Bet365 is one of the names that instantly come to my mind when I think about online betting, which happens to be a very competitive industry. I always happen to have some alternatives and I do not stick with just one bookmaker. An important part of being a bettor is to find value and you need to have alternates. These are my top alternatives for Bet365:

FanDuel: One of the Biggest in the US
As one of the biggest bookmakers in North America, FanDuel was one of my first choices when looking for an alternative for Bet365. The specialty of FanDuel is its focus on fantasy sports, but you can also find a robust sportsbook.
Sports Coverage and Betting Markets
FanDuel has all the answers if you are seeking betting markets on sports like football, soccer, tennis, basketball, and baseball. Unlike at Bet365, I did not come across niche markets like futsal and athletics. I was also disappointed with the lack of customization options, as you only get to use the American odds system.
There is no shortage in betting markets, as you can find different props in almost every sport. The money line, spread, and totals are available as expected, but I was surprised to encounter different alternate lines, odds boosts, and pre-populated parlays. You may be left disappointed with the absence of some futures or outrights. I was also able to browse different markets rather easily thanks to a great interface.
Pricing of Odds: Competitive Enough
It is very important that I find the best return on my bet, but FanDuel falls short in terms of pricing. There were a number of times when Bet365 return on a specific market turned out to be better than the price offered by FanDuel. This difference in price could be due to a slow reaction for market changes, as I was able to get better odds as the event approached closer. Still, I think there is an opportunity for FanDuel to improve in terms of prices.
Live Betting and Streaming
I struggled to find the live stream section at FanDuel, but it became a lot easier once I was used to the platform. Even then, I was not too impressed with the coverage in this section. There is only a limited coverage of games compared with Bet365, which has more than 140,000 events available throughout the year. Still, I was able to get most of the matches on stream at FanDuel. The absence of a robust streaming section does reduce the impact of the live betting capabilities at FanDuel, although I was able to find a strong set of live markets.
FanDuel Mobile App: Good Enough
I came across two different apps from FanDuel. They have managed to put the two major sections – sportsbook and fantasy – into different apps. The iOS app from FanDuel enjoys a high rating compared to its peers. The design and user interface is one of the best I have come across, while I was able to a variety of account management functions right on the app. You can take advantage of this app by combining the best of live betting and cash-out feature.
I had to perform a little bit of research to get access to the Android app. However, this app also turned out to be quite comprehensive. I happen to come across the same set of features as in the iOS app. In terms of aesthetics, both versions of FanDuel’s app manage to give Bet365’s app a run for its money.
Unibet: It can definitely compete with bet365
Unibet is an old gambling institution that has been around for a long time. Founded in 1997, it has more than 10 million customers worldwide. It is one of the few sportsbooks that can match Bet365 in terms of pedigree.
Sports Coverage and Betting Markets: A Vast Variety
Unibet has a vast collection of markets that covers sports like football, horse racing, basketball, baseball, and more. I struggled to find any differences between Unibet and Bet365 in terms of sports coverage, but some niche markets are available at the latter. Unibet tends to focus primarily on popular sports and you may not find markets on Gaelic sports and futsal. I was also not able to find some prop bets at Unibet.
Pricing of Odds
I always happen to shop for odds so that I get the best value in the bet. Even though Bet365’s coverage is excellent, I was surprised by the returns you could make at Unibet. If you happen to pit both these bookmakers on many individual markets in soccer, Unibet appears to have a better price more often than not. However, odds differ from one sport to the other. I have also seen many situations where the odds swing in favor of Bet365. Hence, it becomes difficult to separate the two bookies in this department.
Live Betting and Streaming
I was not surprised by the presence of a streaming service at Unibet. Even though Unibet is comparable with Bet365 in terms of video and streaming quality, I was left disappointed with the market coverage. Bet365 covers all major sports in its live streaming section and there are more than 140,000 events every year. However, the number of live events at Unibet was lower and I estimate the overall coverage to be less than half of Bet365.
I was not able to find any appreciable difference in the live betting markets and opportunities of Bet365 and Unibet.
Unibet Mobile App: Innovative
I had no problems when trying to get Unibet’s mobile apps for Android and iOS devices. I had to follow a couple of steps – just like every other Android app from gambling companies – to install the Android app. I find Bet365’s Android app extremely useful since it almost allows every function as a desktop client. Unibet is no different in this regard, as you can get through live support updates, live betting, and more even on the app. Crucially, I was able to get access to the live streaming section even on the app.
The iOS app from Unibet is similar to the Android version with the availability of sections like live streaming and live betting. I was also able to use account management features like deposits and withdrawals.
Final Thoughts: Which One to Choose & Why?
So, in case you didn’t like bet365, I tried to present to you two operators that can definitely compete with it. Bet365 just launched in the US and it will definitely evolve during the next months. Although it is one of the biggest players worldwide, you might not find the platform easy to use, which is totally understandable, so I hope this article helped you to choose an alternative. Write me in the comments section below what did you decide finally.
